John Grisbach
Photographer
Born and raised
in southern California, John was one of four children whose mother always kept
him on the move and engaged in outdoor activities trying to wear him out. As he
got older, his love for outdoor activities and adventure continued to grow. He
joined the Army and served with the 10th Special Forces Group. After leaving, John
joined the Sheriff's department and spent the last 14 years as an Emergency
Services Deputy prior to retirement. When not involved in S.W.A.T. operations, he engaged in
mountain and ocean rescue while serving as a flight paramedic aboard a Sikorsky
Sea King helicopter. One of his favorite memories was flying with the bay door
open and his feet hanging out while soaring above the Channel Islands of the
Pacific Ocean to the mountain tops at ten thousand feet.
Now retired from the Sheriff’s Department, John continues to love to
climb and hike in remote locations seeking the perfect capture. He prefers to
avoid areas commonly photographed and relishes the hunt of finding
"that" shot. When he is alone and without distractions, John shares
that he can feel the presence of God and knows that He has led him to that
place at the exact time to capture the moment. John is honored to share with
you the beauty of God's Creation as seen through his lens.
